Location. Right in the centre of town and with own allocated parking space.
Bedroom to the rear and so no traffic noise whatso ever.
Spacious and comfortable living room and bedroom
Entrance is dark at night. Automatic light near entrance would be helpful.

The way two minor issues were dealt with. We could not open the lockbox but the very competent lady on the phone talked us through finding a emergency key. The hot water wasn't hot but again the 24hr number was answered immediately and a plumber arrived and fixed the issue within an hour. The parking and central location were also great.

Location was very central with easy access to the street market, boutique shopping and eateries etc.
Our stay at this property was for 2 nights...
1) On our first morning my partner used the shower to find the thermostatic control was broken and the shower only delivered scalding hot water. This was rectified the same morning after we contacted the host and they sent a plumber. HOWEVER, it should be noted that if the shower had been used by someone (ie. elderly or a child) not able to get out of it quickly then the instant hot water was hot enough to have caused severe burns !!!
Consequently we did not take a shower that morning as we were going out for the day. However, this problem was rectified by the time we returned.
2) The coffee pod machine was not working properly so we had to ask for it to be replaced - which it was the same morning.
3) The hairdryer although listed under "facilities" was missing and we had to ask for that to be replaced - which it was the same morning.
Our thanks to the host for sorting things promptly and leaving a tasty gift for us. We have stayed in and around Stamford over a number of years and will continue to come for short breaks. It is a lovely, typically English market town and with the exception of market days, not too busy most of the time.
Our overall score reflects the issues that we had on this stay. Whilst these were rectified promptly, Our main concern is/was that the shower problem could potentially have resulted in a severe injury and that it appears facilities were not fully checked and verified as functioning correctly before our arrival.
