I stayed at Shilpa Serenity for a one-night trip to Murudeshwar, and it turned out to be a much better decision than staying near the temple area. Murudeshwar felt quite overcrowded, and many rooms in a similar price range didn’t seem well maintained. In contrast, this homestay in Kasarkod (about 20 km away) offered a much more peaceful and comfortable experience.
The location is a big advantage if you have your own vehicle—Murudeshwar temple is easily reachable within 30 minutes via good roads. Plus, Kasarkod beach is cleaner and more well-maintained, which adds to the overall experience.
The stay itself feels more like visiting a relative than checking into a commercial property. The rooms are well maintained, everything is functional, and the hospitality really stands out. I was welcomed with lemon water on arrival, which was a thoughtful gesture after traveling in the heat.
The host is very approachable—anything you need is just a phone call away. They are also flexible with early check-in when possible, which can be very helpful for travelers.
Overall, as a solo traveler, I felt very comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a calm and homely stay near Murudeshwar.
