The property was very clean, updated and welcoming. The property was in the old city; so it was within walking distance to many of the sights. Also Bus 36 was nearby; this made getting to the Underground easy and to other points of interest around Nuremberg. Also Aldis was relatively close. It was about a 7-10 minute walk. So groceries were easy to get. Overall it's in a charming setting for an old world stay during your time in Nuremberg.
There is a cafe bar a little down the street from the property. You could hear people talking and laughing after 10:00/11:00 pm. You also have a steady flow of people walking down the road and with that comes noise. I also hit a time when there was construction happening two doors down on another property. Of course there's nothing my host could have done about that. Fortunately, I was out most of the day, and it wasn't much of an issue. However, if noise is an issue for you, this is probably not the ideal property for you. Also be aware that the inside door doesn't stay open on its own; you must use a 'door stop' to keep it open as it will shut on its own. On my first night I made the mistake of going out to the street door to scramble the numbers on the lock box. I did not have the key or my phone on me, and as I got to the lock box the inside door shut. I didn't panic as I thought that I'd unlocked it when I initially opened it. However, I soon learned that there's no way to keep the door unlocked; it always remains locked. So obviously, when I went to try it, it was locked solid. I was in a panic as I had no way of reaching my host without my phone, and I had no way of opening the door. Fortunately, it was hot that evening, and I had the front window open. So I went outside to see if I might be able to climb through the window. Since I'm tall and the window is wide I was able to do it. So just be aware of the inside door. Always make sure you use the doorstop or have the key on your person. Otherwise you might find yourself locked out of the place and having to sleep in the stairwell.
