The hotel was very dog friendly and had a nice atmosphere. Our room was clean and comfortable with a great shower. The staff were all excellent- very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The location was convenient for our journey back home from a trip to the Lake District
The outside area beyond the property is uninspiring.

Firstly, the staff were incredibly helpful, polite and cheerful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was lovely, although we have to admit that, despite looking beautiful, we don't see the point in covering the bed with gorgeous cushions that we have to remove and find a space for on the floor! The bar and restaurant areas are inviting places to eat, suiting those who want a quiet space as well as those hoping for a lively venue, with the food being thoughtfully presented and well-cooked, and offering imaginative dishes as well as classics.
We like everything there, however, a little mini fridge under the dressing table would have been convenient (but not essential).
