About this house rental
Pack up the family and head to this beautiful home located on a quiet, deep-water cove of the lake. The home is situated on the more publicly accessible side of the lake, with easy access to many great activities and attractions. Spend the day sampling the many restaurants, breweries, or wineries close by. Play a family round of mini golf, or head to Lake Anna State Park for a hike. Civil War battlefields, Goochland Drive-in theater, Kings Dominion amusement park, Dominion Raceway, and Spring Creek golf course are nearby for added fun during your stay.
When you're not out exploring or cruising the lake, make the most of the home's two-acre, waterfront location by swimming and fishing from the private dock. Anglers who bring their own gear and tackle can pick up bait from the nearby marina. Floats, paddleboards, and kayaks are also provided for added fun on the water. Multiple outdoor spaces include a sundeck and shaded patio complete with seating and lounge areas, plus a table for alfresco dining. At the end of the day, gather on the screened porch or take a soak in the private hot tub under the stars with a 'treehouse' feel surrounded by woods.

Kitchen was fully equipped, grill and blackstone worked well, wood was gathered to start a fire, and the hot tub was perfect temperature for us to use right away. Had a great stay!

Overall the property was just like the pictures shown. The only issue we really experienced was some miscommunication with the property managers

This was a beautiful and comfortable house. We loved all aspects of it. We did have trouble getting in. The initial and secondary codes didn’t work, but thankfully the third one did. I was able to text with a property assistant, who was friendly but only moderately helpful as she wasn’t familiar with the property herself and had to ask her team. Messages through VRBO received no reply for days, and in fact most were only answered after we checked out. It was confusing to received emails from both VRBO and Vacasa. One clear communication channel would’ve been helpful. The house could have been a bit cleaner—it was clear that someone had spilled something very sticky over the chair and floor in the living room and it wasn’t cleaned up. The upstairs bathroom had toothpaste all over the walls. Overall, though, it was a tidy place, just small messes.It was a joy to take our meals down to the dock, or read in front of the fire—whether outside or in. It was very quiet (except for the landscapers)—lots of birds and beautiful sunrises/sunsets. The jacuzzi was very relaxing.The main negative was something the managers would have no control over: the neighbors. Their bonfires blew smoke directly into the house, even down the chimney so that we couldn’t keep windows open. The worst day was when landscapers started gas blowers at 7am, then burned the leaves in the fireplace all day. The house filled with smoke until we closed it up. Disappointing, but what do you do.

We understand that to be close to nature, you will be close to nature. But the number of spiders was on the excessive side. It made it hard to find a place that spiders were not already well established including the deck, screen porch and inside. It may be a consequence of being so close to nature. We tried to look pass it because the lake and all the toys to use were so fun. The house had the feel that no one, except for the spiders, had been there in weeks.
