The location was perfect for our needs. The purpose of the trip was an all day visit to Colchester Zoo, and being only 15 minutes away was ideal. It was also only 5 minutes from the Anchor at Rowhedge, where we enjoyed an excellent meal on Sunday evening. Although we didn’t meet our hosts in person, they were easily contacted, particularly when this guest forgot the WiFi code from an earlier message! They were very patient! The property was easy to find and access, with off street parking a big plus. We only stayed 2 nights, but, knowing Colchester from years gone by, it would make an ideal base to explore the amenities in the city, but also affords good access to the surrounding areas, particularly Mersea island.
