Visible mould forced us to leave on the night of arrival, followed by days of delays from management with no resolution
Unfortunately, there was very little positive about our experience. We were unable to stay in the apartment due to the condition we found it in upon arrival.
We discovered a significant amount of visible mould in the bathroom immediately after check-in, accompanied by a strong and unpleasant smell. We photographed it and reported it to the management company immediately.
We had booked the apartment for three nights for our family, but the condition was unacceptable, so we left on the same evening we arrived and had to arrange and pay for alternative accommodation at the last minute.
What made the experience considerably worse was the way management handled the situation afterwards. Despite receiving photographic evidence and being informed immediately, they repeatedly told us that our request for a full refund was “under review.” By our original check-out date, three days later, management had still failed to provide a decision or even a clear timeframe for one.
The AED 2,000 security deposit also remained on hold after we had already vacated the apartment and only began being released after we followed up separately.
Meanwhile, despite an active complaint about mould and management knowing that we had left on the first evening, their automated system continued sending us messages advertising paid cleaning services and later asking whether we had enjoyed our stay and what time we planned to check out.
The issue here is not simply that a maintenance problem occurred. Problems can happen. The real disappointment is that after being provided with clear evidence and knowing that a family had to find alternative accommodation immediately, management still allowed the matter to drag on for days without providing a resolution.
We did not cancel because our plans changed. We arrived intending to stay, discovered the apartment in this condition, reported it immediately and left that same evening.
Based on both the condition of the apartment and, particularly, management’s handling of the situation afterwards, I cannot recommend this property.
