We couldn’t have asked for more from our stay and would highly recommend this property. Mariana’s home made for the perfect visit to the region. It was beautifully restored with all the facilities we needed for our week long stay including a very generous hamper - the homemade sourdough was exceptional!! The summer kitchen area in the lovely garden is unique and was a wonderful way to pass time on a balmy evening or reading a book during the day. The main kitchen was fully stocked with every implement needed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and bedroom extremely quiet - we slept so well.
The village itself is very traditional and you are able to form an appreciation for the way of life there now, as well as its history. There are good links to Sibiu and other major Transylvanian towns with a car if you want to explore further afield (noting that as it’s a little more remote some of the roads into the town are sometimes unpaved).
Mariana and Jochen were the highlight. They are passionate about the restoration of many of the local buildings and they were so generous in sharing their hospitality and knowledge. We look forward to hearing about how their project unfolds in the future.
