This was the worst accommodation experience I have ever had. Hidden extra fees were not shown when I made the booking, nor in the confirmation of the booking. Host unhelpful.
We arrived at the property at 18:30. The host asked us to wait while they prepared the keys, and I was understanding and willing to wait for them.
After 19:00, they demanded an additional cash payment for a "late check-in" even though we had already been waiting outside since 18:30. This charge was not clearly disclosed when we made the booking.
I explained that I had arrived on time and this fee should not be charged as it was the host who delayed the check in, and also that this extra fee was unexpected as it was not written anywhere in the booking information.
Eventually, I agreed to pay the extra fee because we were exhausted after travelling. Despite this, the host refused to check us in (because I enquired about the fee) and also refused to cancel the booking, leaving us with no accommodation.
We spent 6 hours in front of the property, trying to resolve the situation with booking.com on the phone. Because the host did not check us in and also did not cancel the booking during this time, I didn't get the refund needed to proceed with another booking. Eventually, at midnight, booking.com cancelled the booking which gave me the refund.
At that time, we were left walking around Sète late at night looking for somewhere to sleep. Because the Worldwide Festival was taking place, almost every hotel was fully booked. The first night of our holiday was completely ruined.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this property. Guests should be aware that unexpected charges and refusal of check-in can leave them in a very difficult situation. Also, the host is very unhelpful towards the customers.

Pendant mon séjour, le voisin de palier (apparemment propriétaire de son appartement) a diffusé de la musique très fort pendant deux nuits consécutives. Cet individu est impoli et agressif, voire menaçant. Je déconseille à tous de loger à cette adresse.
