We had a wonderful stay at Villa Branda and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. It's an ideal place to unwind, escape the busy tourist areas and spend quality time together as a family.
The breakfast was excellent, with a lovely variety of pastries, breads, cold meats and other delicious options. The spa facilities were fantastic, and the massage treatments were particularly outstanding, definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
The accommodation was lovely overall, and there was plenty to enjoy without having to leave the hotel. The quiet location, excellent facilities and relaxing surroundings made it a really enjoyable experience. We would happily return and would definitely recommend it to families and couples looking for a peaceful getaway in Portugal.
There were a few areas where we felt some improvements could make the experience even better.
Firstly, although the breakfast was excellent, we would have appreciated some fresh vegetables, such as tomatoes, cucumbers or salad options. There was a lovely selection of pastries and cold meats, but very few lighter, healthier choices. Adding these would make an already wonderful breakfast even more complete.
Secondly, as a family of four, we found the sofa bed quite hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. While the suite itself was lovely, the sofa bed didn't offer the same level of comfort as the main bed. When accommodation is designed for four guests, we believe everyone should be able to enjoy a comfortable night's sleep.
We also felt that better ventilation in the suite would help reduce the humidity and make the atmosphere more comfortable, particularly after using the bathroom. Additionally, the lighting could be improved, as we missed having bedside lamps for reading or creating a softer, more relaxing atmosphere in the evenings.
Another practical issue was the lack of accessible electrical sockets in the entrance bedroom. There weren't any available wall sockets for charging mobile phones, which was rather inconvenient, especially when travelling as a family with several devices.
None of these issues significantly affected our overall enjoyment of Villa Branda, but addressing them would make a real difference to the comfort and practicality of the accommodation. With a few thoughtful improvements, an already excellent experience could be even better.
