I booked a 2-night stay from 02 August 2026 to 04 August 2026. However, due to extremely poor and unsanitary conditions, I was forced to leave after staying just one night.
The issues I encountered include:
Undisclosed basement location: The listing failed to mention that this was a basement property. It was a complete disappointment as no sunlight ever entered the place, and the basement was horrific with a terrible, damp smell.
Grossly neglected windows: The window screens/filters were covered in thick dust and spider webs, which was utterly sickening.
Property damage and dirt: The wallpaper near the main door was peeling off. All window frames, door edges, and the main entrance door were filthy, dusty, and rusty.
Extremely dirty and damaged bathroom: The showerhead and bathroom door were covered in rust. The floor tiles were in terrible condition, and there was no trash bin provided.
Overall unhygienic conditions: The floors throughout the property were filthy, the dishes were uncleaned, and there were insects and spider webs throughout the place.
Bad odor: The area designated as the dining room had an unbearable, foul smell.
Misleading kitchen facilities: The photos on the listing showed a proper stove for cooking, but in reality, there was only a filthy, rusty substitute instead.
Uncontrollable AC: The air conditioner could not be properly adjusted. The room was either freezing cold all night or uncomfortably hot, making it impossible to sleep.
Communication and Support Issues:
It was virtually impossible to contact Booking.com through your app. The app's support system made it extremely difficult to reach out or process a cancellation directly. Furthermore, the available contact number only connected to a local agency where the representatives spoke exclusively Korean, making international or English support inaccessible from my phone.
