The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I really liked the house rules on the doors, which helped keep the place clean and comfortable for everyone. I felt very safe, the room was comfortable and not too hot, and the staff gave me great recommendations. Everything was clean, including the shared bathroom, which I ended up using because it was more spacious and very well maintained.
The main downside is the street noise, which starts very early, around 4 AM. Since you may want to keep the window open for fresh air, I’d definitely recommend bringing earplugs or asking the staff if they have any.

Tout était super propre et bien équipé, le personnel était adorable et étaient aux petits soins pour faire en sorte que mon séjour se passe au mieux.
J’ai eu quelques difficultés avec le wifi qui n’était pas très fonctionnel mais Briss a été à l’écoute et a tenté de faire au mieux pour régler au plus vite le problème :)

The hostel is immaculately clean and the staff friendly. There is a kitchen to cook with a fridge to store cold items. An instant hot/cold water unit is available in the dorm common area. Communication via WhatsApp is highly responsive to questions.
The plumbing omits a smell when toilets within the accomodation are used. My room had a private bathroom but I needed to keep the door closed as the smell enters the sleeping area. Backpackers should note that the area is conservative in regards to dress code. I stepped out front of the hostel for around 5 minutes to take a photo wearing long pants and a sleeveless shirt. I was sent a message the next day to remind me to dress respectfully as neighbours had complained. I also received a message after I had left for a day activity to inform me that the hostel was having a function and guests were asked to avoid the area and access their rooms by a side door. I could not enter the kitchen to get my food. :/ Notice in advance (perhaps at the time of booking) would have been appreciated. I felt as though I could not access facilities that I had paid for (kitchen access) and was not welcome. There is another DeCasa in Malang that is better suited to Western backpackers. I would recommend choosing that one.
