Disappointing stay, but the location was great.

The only benefits of the place are its very central location and the nearby affordable breakfast spots. We could also say the bed was comfortable.

Firstly, the photos and description failed to mention that the studio apartment is in the basement and has a separate entrance directly from outside; from the photos, it looks like it is on the ground floor. The storage space where we were told we could leave our bags had no lock and was already full. We were told in messages that the room was designed to maximise natural light, but that wasn't really the case. We chose this place over a hotel so we could study from home during the day, but we ended up having to go to the British Library to get any work done. The place is old and quite dirty. It hadn't been cleaned properly (there were stains and lipstick marks on the glasses, dusty radiators, a stained duvet cover, etc.), and there were items left behind by previous guests that should have been discarded. There are patches of dampness and mould; plus, there is a bad odour—we couldn't tell if it was coming from the carpet. If you do laundry, it is very difficult to dry clothes inside the apartment; you have to turn on the radiators to do so. You also need to open the window occasionally to get rid of the humidity.
