Disappointed
The property is 14mins walk to a nearby beach. The beach itself is wonderful. Getting keys was fairly straightforward.
The photos perhaps don't portray how extremely basic this property is. The main bed is smaller than a double and is cramped with a storage unit that makes it even smaller. It appears little thought has gone into the design and how best to maximise a small space. The bathroom shower very small and feels cheap, with lots of plastic and a shower curtain that does not fully block the water from splashing. Instead of having a huge terrace, more and better designed internal space should have been the focus.
Also, worth reading the small print. This property (unlike others similar I have used in Latvia) does NOT have a TV or wifi. Also, we were only 2 people and it felt extremely cramped. It has a large grey fridge blocking 1 side ot the door/access. There is a large vacuum and broom next to a white storage unit which again takes lots of space to put suitcases, etc. It is perplexing how this property can market itself to accommodate 3-4-5 people in the context of the small internal space, small bathroom. Again, the photos are not representative or reflect reality.
Two days into our stay, the lights in the bathroom failed. As it does not have a window and sits at the back, whether day or nite, the bathroom is very dark. It didn't feel comfortable or safe to take showers in the dark for the last 2 days of our 4 day stay. The owner was notified of the problem as soon as it came up. The reply came back promising to send an electrician who NEVER came. No apology, no basic customer service, no bath room lights for the last 2 days. This is something that we did NOT expect as other Latvian properties where we stayed had owners who were responsive and did everything they could to make you feel welcome, appreciated. With the exception of the beautiful beach that is 14mins walk, this was not a pleasant property to stay and the way it is managed it makes you feel low, uncared for.
