Oltre ad aver conosciuto personalmente i proprietari che si sono dimostrati persone più che "per bene", disponibili e con un grande senso dell'ospitalità, ho avuto il piacere di soggiornare nella loro struttura che mi ha fatto sentire letteralmente a casa! Ho apprezzato tutti i minimi particolari, la posizione centrale, la pulizia, l'accuratezza degli arredi e addirittura fra i "kit di benvenuto", ho trovato l'occorrente per un bel piatto di pasta alla Norma che, non ho esitato a preparare subito perché stanco della giornata. Mi rivedrete presto!

Es war schön ruhig und die Ausstattung bei der Küche und Bad war super. Auch die bereitgestellten Imbisse waren toll.

Soggiornare alla casa vacanze Carpediem non è semplicemente fare una vacanza, è vivere una vera e propria favola. La struttura gode di una posizione assolutamente privilegiata, incastonata come un diamante nel centro storico di Castelmola, ufficialmente uno dei Borghi più belli d'Italia. Passeggiare tra i vicoli medievali e trovarsi subito a casa è un privilegio impagabile, un'immersione totale nella storia e nella bellezza siciliana. Varcata la soglia, si viene travolti dall'incanto: l'arredamento è un capolavoro di stile e raffinatezza. Ogni mobile, ogni luce e ogni minimo dettaglio sono stati scelti con un gusto sopraffino ed elegante, creando un'atmosfera lussuosa, accogliente e incredibilmente luminosa. E che dire della vista panoramica dall’alto delle piazze. Qualcosa di indescrivibile, che riempie gli occhi e scalda il cuore. Il risveglio qui è pura poesia, grazie a una colazione basata di cornetti fragranti, pancake, fette biscottate, marmellate, un'esperienza indimenticabile, curata con un amore e una passione rari. I proprietari sono l'anima di questo luogo: anime di una generosità e di un'ospitalità straordinarie, capaci di trasformare un soggiorno in un ricordo indelebile. Carpediem non si descrive, si vive. Se cercate la perfezione assoluta, l'avete trovata. Cinque stelle non bastano, merita l'infinito!

The apartment is newly renovated, fresh, spacious and beautifully styled, with a modern yet cosy atmosphere. It feels bright and airy, with plenty of wardrobe and storage space, which was especially convenient for a longer stay. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed for cooking and preparing meals. The bathroom is comfortable and practical, and we appreciated the thoughtful extras such as laundry detergent and a wash basin for hand-washing smaller items of clothing. These little details were very useful during a longer stay. Overall, the apartment feels comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. Jovanna was very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. She was easy to communicate with, responded quickly whenever we contacted her and genuinely tried to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

A few details felt out of place in an otherwise nicely renovated apartment, such as plastic picnic-style plates and the lack of wine glasses. More importantly, several things in the Booking.com description did not match reality. The listing states that the property has a balcony and a view, but there was no actual balcony and no view at all. There were only two French-style glass doors with railings, both facing a small, enclosed and unattractive courtyard with bare ground, an old barbecue and empty basement-like rooms. The advertised parking, accessible parking and EV parking were not available at the property either. In reality, we had to use public paid parking in the village, approximately a 10–15 minute walk from the apartment. This is important to know when arriving by car, particularly if you are expecting EV parking based on the listing. The biggest issue for us was a strong chemical smell in the kitchen/living room, possibly from renovation materials. It was very unpleasant and, as I am sensitive to strong smells, I had a blocked nose throughout our stay. The included “breakfast” was also very disappointing. It consisted mainly of packaged white bread, sweet processed pastries and snacks with a long shelf life, sweetened fruit drinks rather than actual juice, sweet yoghurt, milk and a few packages of ham and sausage. When we explained that we do not eat sugary foods and asked if we could have eggs instead, the answer was simply, “No eggs.” No alternative was offered. For us, this effectively meant that there was no breakfast. Finally, the floor had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. After a long day of travelling, the first thing I had to do was clean it myself, using the rather worn and unhygienic cleaning equipment provided in the apartment. Overall, our main disappointment was the difference between what was advertised and what was actually provided.
