The hosts were exceptional. Sumith and Harami (not sure if that's spelled correctly) were absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. Their English is not perfect, but with a little help from Translate, we were able to get all that we wanted.
What a view near the top of a hill overlooking the valley and parts of Kandy totally stunning. The pool was great, chest-deep water all the way with views over the valley, perfect for when you get home after a hard day's sightseeing!
The gardens at the back of the house have a viewing platform with a table and some chairs in amongst the coconuts and star fruit; it was delightful.
The common area was great. Very comfy lounges and, for the most part, we had the place to ourselves, though not sure if there were other guests it would be as good. All of the rooms have direct access to the pool area/back gardens, which was great!
The value for money for this place is unreal. When we stayed, we paid $USD 408 for two rooms for 5 nights (approximately $40 per room per night, but it was the off-season).
Lastly, the recommended tuk-tuk drivers were outstanding; one lived nearby, and the other was a good friend of the host. Romesh was brilliant with excellent English and so much knowledge of the local area.
The breakfast was very simple: some eggs, a curry or two, rice and fruit. The hosts adapted the food as we stayed longer so it got better each day as they learned what we liked, but it took a few days to get good. The negative is there was little choice, but for $40 a night that's to be expected)
It is a way out of town, 20 minutes in a tuk tuk. Which is fine but means that for most of the tours you can add an extra 20 minutes to get to your rooms. Also, no one could find it the first time. The address, when you type it into Google, leaves you about 10 minutes away. 7°15'49.5"N 80°37'15.7"E is the actual location.
The room facilities are basic! In both our rooms, there was no hanging space or any meaningful drawer space. The bed is firm but very comfy. The shower/bathroom is serviceable. If you want luxury and all the comforts of a hotel, then this is not for you, but as an affordable, home base for your Kandy experience, it is perfect.

The pool area and gardens are simply beautiful and make the whole place feel very special. The hosts are also incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. They are quick to respond to any issues and genuinely make an effort to ensure their guests are well taken care of. With some thoughtful renovations, this hotel could truly be amazing!
The rooms are a little dated, especially the bathrooms, and could definitely benefit from a renovation.
