A Noisy House of Horrors
Nothing.
House of horrors. We checked in and realized right away that this house sits at the corner of the busiest intersection in Calabria. The noise was insanity levels. Cars honking, motorcycles, a bus stop by the front door, scooters non stop at all hours. Totally ridiculous, like you are staying next to the freeway. We asked the host right away if she had any other properties because we would not be able to stay at this one due to the noise. At this time she said no. But it gets way worse. This property is next to a drugstore that has nowhere to park. So people park on the front door of this property all day. And I mean right on the front door. Starting their cars and opening and closing their doors all day long. We were unable to enter the property on multiple occasions because the front door was blocked. We explained this to the owners and they said it was the local Police’s fault for not enforcing the laws. We begged the owners for a pro-rated refund so that we could leave early and get a different place. They stated that they had properties all over Italy, and never had any trouble. (We were told there were no other properties earlier). On top of the Noise and blocked doors the location is in such a spot that people are just standing and looking in the windows all day, so half the house feels like you are an exhibit in the Zoo . So you close the blinds and then the house is pitch black. OMG. On top of that the Pharmacy has a Condom machine by the front door, so cars pull up and park in front of the front door all night to use the machine. We ended up leaving 4 full days early. The owner just said that we should tough it out, and refused any type of refund. AVOID this house of horror’s at all costs.
