Wonderful, peacful, comfortable little retreat. A sanctuary to return to after a long day of sightseeing

Location was great. Mt Rushmore Crazy Horse Memorial etc were within an hour drive. The upstairs apartment was just as advertised, Comfy and Cozy. Even saw some deer walking around in the evenings

Do NOT stay here; host will not honor confirmed bookings if she can rent to others for more $$$$

We had been one of the first couple of reservations made with this property which gave us a decent discount to jump start its business. Host confirmed our booking and then later confirmed our arrival time. She knew we were coming. When we arrived, she acted like she had never heard of us and claimed booking.com had never informed her. As the apartment was already booked with other tenants, she refused us entry. So we stood on her porch without a place to stay. Host informed us that she made more money with visitors who booked using a competitor site. I assumed that this was a hint to use this other service. She then mentioned she was booking up for months using this other reservation platform. Then it became clear she pretended to be unaware of our booking because she had higher-paying customers lined up. She did not want to cancel on us through the system because that can be tracked/counted against her. So she acted like it was booking.com’s fault when it clearly was not. She knew we were coming. Do not risk your trip by booking with this host. She will leave you stranded and say emails were never sent, etc. She will do whatever it takes to maximize her income when she clearly knows she is stranding out of town visitors in the process.

Host is unethical.
