Start a maintenance project because the pictures here on booking is nothing near the reality!
Only the matras, other furniture in the room and the kitchen utensils were good. The rest of the place has become a dump. Only stayed because we wanted to be close to the train station so thankfully it was just for 1 night. Otherwise we wouldn’t have stayed.
Writing all everything in the dislike section and leaving pictures so other people can be aware of what they are booking and also in hopes that there can be proper improvement because this place is in need of serious maintenance. As the building is located in a very good spot if you don’t mind the busy and nightlife.
Where can I even begin? The host madam Lulu is very impatient and unfriendly. Not sure if it is the language barrier or not.
When we arrived we couldn’t even understand where the entrance to the accommodation was so we called the number available here on booking. Tried to explain to this madam Lulu that we had arrived and we want to check-in but can’t find the entrance. She didn’t even know which accommodation we were talking about despite the fact that we shared our booking details. After long discussion, she offered to send someone to come pick us up but he never showed. We waited for more than 15mins before we could find the entrance ourselves. This was only because we had a friend with us who can speak Swahili.
The entrance is filthy as there are lots of shops on the ground floor so you don’t even get the feeling you’re going into an apartment. The elevator stinks and so does the apartment. We asked the guy to open all the windows since there was no air freshener. We just put our luggage inside and asked about the payment but the guy said we could pay by card or M-pesa. He never came back for the payment to be made so we left after waiting long enough for him. This was a very bad idea because when we came back late at night the entire room was filled with giant mosquitoes and there was no mosquito net in the room. The bathroom is a disaster. There wasn’t even any toiletries available. Lots of mosquitoes and cockroaches were in there too. The towel hanger is broken. The bedding was stained with insect blood. The view is just a construction site and worn out building. So it was very hard to sleep here in peace.
Lastly, the manager called later at night to ask me to pay cash after the guy that came earlier had said we could pay online but never came back. I don’t even understand why you would do this as a manager when you have a card on file for the booking. Please work on your check-in services!
