The house is beautiful and decorated very thoughtfully. It’s in a good location in Harar’s Old Town and feels very peaceful. The breakfasts arrived each morning with a big flask of tea or coffee and generous portion of food. I especially liked the little balcony overlooking the old town and the mountains.

I squashed a bed bug between the sheets on the first night, there was no internet (despite WiFi being advertised), the toilet didn’t flush and there was only intermittent running water. The kitchen appliances also hadn’t been cleaned—I went to boil the kettle and found it already full of coffee and old coffee grounds. This would all be tolerable if not for the high price point.
