A big plus was the VERY central location in Old Town Hull, BUT be aware that we felt that we were also in the "nightclub" district too. Arriving at 3pm on a hot Saturday afternoon in August, the music was already pumping LOUDLY from a number of venues nearby, which did make us wonder how much louder it was going to get later on. With the windows open, you didn't need any extra music inside the flat for a party!! but, once shut, you weren't disturbed by it. (Possible visitors should just be aware about local noise.)
Communication with the host was great, key instructions were clear and the flat itself was very clean and spacious with a super little terrace just beyond the living area, separated from other apartments by a high wooden fence all round so it felt really quite private when having a drink outside.
Our first impression wasn't great. Although we communicated this to our host, Frank, on stepping into the building on the ground floor, there was a really unpleasant smell of ? drains. However, on arriving at the flat entrance, that smell had, thankfully, disappeared. It wasn't necessarily our host's fault or responsibility as it's a communal entrance, but, hopefully the smell has now been eradicated - fingers crossed! Hope this has been sorted anyway because when entering/leaving each time, the smell by the front entrance really wasn't good.
Overall attention to detail was missing, and that was a shame as there was very little to "dislike" to be fair.
Only 2 of us stayed in this apartment, which could accommodate 4, with the 2 big double bedrooms. However, only 2 wine glasses were in the kitchen cupboard. Not a problem for us, but had there been 2 others joining us, we would have been fighting over them! The bedrooms each had a large wardrobes but having at least one coat hanger in each would have been helpful. (We used the shelves/drawers instead.)
Also, whilst we understood there was only Netflix & YouTube available on the TV, it would have been nice to have had a few other TV options like Amazon video and ITVX for example. That said, we didn't come to sit in front of the box, but had the weather been dreadful, more channels to choose from would have been good.
