About this house rental

NOTE: THANKSGIVING + HOLIDAY GROUPS — room for 10 when you book both our homes on this ridge (this cottage + our 3BR main house next door). Those weeks fill early.

The Sierra ridge glows at dusk, deep amber, then rose beneath a sky you may have forgotten was possible. Settle on your private deck, and watch the hills change color. The surroundings are quiet, the light pollution is minimal, and once darkness falls, the stars take over.

Yosemite is approximately 36 miles away, while downtown Mariposa's restaurants, shops, and historic streets are just a short drive from the cottage.

Deer Ridge Cottage is a standalone, single-story home on a peaceful Sierra foothill property. It has its own private driveway, entrance, and outdoor space. The cottage accommodates up to four guests in two bedrooms. For larger groups of 10 people you can book the adjacent house ~200 ft away.

The bright, comfortable living room features leather seating, light wood floors, modern lighting, and a Smart TV. Glass doors open onto a private deck shaded by a retractable Sunsetter awning, with Adirondack seating for morning coffee, evening conversation, and sunset views across the ridge.

The rural setting brings plenty of opportunities to observe local wildlife. Deer are often seen on the surrounding hillsides, while quail and songbirds frequent the property. Guests may also occasionally spot other Sierra foothill wildlife from a respectful distance.

The fully equipped kitchen includes:

* Electric range and oven

* Dishwasher

* Microwave

* Drip coffee maker with a coffee bean grinder

* Hot-water kettle and 4-slice toaster

* Cookware and basic cooking essentials

* Coffee, tea, and a selection of spices

* Dining table with seating for four

The primary bedroom has a king bed dressed in luxurious cotton sheets. Its en-suite bathroom includes a tub/shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed with the same high quality linens, and a second full bathroom with a tub/shower is located off the hallway.

A separate office and flex room with a few games includes a sit-stand desk, offering a comfortable place to work remotely. Starlink WiFi provides fast internet suitable for most everyday browsing, streaming, and remote-work needs.

Additional amenities include an in-unit washer and dryer, central heating and air conditioning controlled by a Nest thermostat, and smart-lock entry. Exterior Ring cameras are located at the front entrance and rear deck, monitoring parking and entrance areas only. They do not face any interior or private guest-use area.

Deer Ridge Cottage offers a quiet home base close to Mariposa and Yosemite—with privacy, comfort, sunset views, and exceptionally dark night skies.

Couples — Privacy, a king and queen bed, a full kitchen, and convenient access to Yosemite and downtown Mariposa make the cottage well suited to a quiet getaway or a longer park visit.

Larger Groups booking both properties — The cottage can be paired with the neighboring main house (sleeps six) for groups up to ten. Each home has its own entrance and parking.
