A welcome bundle including videos was sent before arrival so we knew what to expect, very clearly. The location is ideal for access to Nevers town. We were initially a little troubled by the house being directly next to high-rise apartments but it turns out the location is quiet and respectable.
The courtyard is secured by electric gates. We were on motorcycles and pleased to find they all would fit under a shelter at the corner of the yard, dry and partially out of sight.
The house is close to nearby boulangeries, the nearest being open on a Sunday morning.
Everything in the house worked and there was plenty of kitchen equipment. The smart TV worked well.
The house was very clean but the previous occupant had obviously smoked cigarettes inside as the smell was overbearing and had spread to bedding and towels. We had to open all the windows, turn on the fans and apply air fresheners. By our second day, it had lessened somewhat. We believed it to be a non-smoking property.
As mentioned, everything worked but some of the wall sockets were hanging out of the wall, including in the main bathroom.
The door handle was insecure and came off when closing it. We tried to fix it but this wasn't possible and the host could not either whilst we were there. We ended up having to take the handle out with us.
Whilst it was functional, the garden and courtyard would benefit from some care. Weeds and grass were left growing out. The yard stair tiles were broken and damaged.
