I wouldn't stay here again if it could save the future of mankind.

Ran out of space in the "what I didn't like box, so starting it here: A few days after the cancellation window had passed I got a text from them letting me know that the pet fee for my stay was $150 per dog - so $300. This was significantly more than I have ever been charged for a hotel pet fee. I phoned them and they cited booking.com where it says "fees may apply." Fair enough, but I don't think I'm unreasonable for expecting the fees to not be almost the price of the booking itself. I found that outrageous. I asked to cancel and they refused to let me cancel, so at this point I felt extorted. After arguing back and forth with them they agree to $150 for the pet fee. I think to myself... It's fine, the place looks really nice, and at least it will be clean. I was wrong. When we arrive it was very late so we didn't look around much. The bed was a little small, so we push the sofa bed back a little to pull that out and give us a bed each. There is a THICK line of dog hair where the sofa was. Normally I wouldn't care - after all I have dogs. It was more the egregious act of charging $150 per dog and for us then to find dog hair. When I got in the bathtub I then saw how stained and horrible the toilet was. At this point I complained about the cleaning, because I wasn't impressed that they were gouging people in the pet fee and yet not even cleaning properly. To their credit they did offer to send someone round to clean it. I didn't want the cleaner to come in and bother our routine so I didn't take them up on the offer. It was just a few things and I wanted to enjoy my holiday.

The sofa bed turned out to be very uncomfortable. On the second night we were both lying in the murphy bed (which is the main bed) and it gave way underneath my partner. Now my partner is not someone who belongs in a circus or my 600lbs life. In the morning I texted them and showed them what happened and they said unfortunately they couldn't get a handyman round to fix it as it was a long weekend. We spent our 3rd night sleeping on a mattress on the floor. When we left, we tidied up as best we could with the broken Murphy bed, and I texted them asking for some of our money back given everything that happened. I got a snippy text back stating that it was clean before we got in there, and inspected by them, that we had dogs so the dog hair could be ours, and that the toilet was just stained not dirty. They also said that they would need to get a handyman to inspect the bed to see if it was our fault. Two weeks later I phoned them as we still hadn't got our $250 deposit back. They said that their handyman had said that it was broken due to excessive force and that they would be charging us for the repair. I'm not sure if they think we were jumping on the bed or what, but we were sleeping. When i said to the woman on the phone that this was monumentally unfair she said "We have suffered because of your booking as we had to cancel other bookings." as if it's my fault. I did unfortunately have to pull out a bit of a Karen manoeuvre (to no avail) and tell them i'd be leaving a review and they said "Is that a threat?" I'm not sure what it is they expect, but they informed me that they're prepared for my review and willing to come back to whatever it is I say. Looking forward to that! I wish I could attach pictures to booking.com reviews as I'd show you our text thread. Stay here if you wish, but get your credit card ready.
