The location was river frontage with daily visits from a grey heron. The surrounding area is farmland with nature parks, spas and museums no more than 30 minutes drive away.
It would have been nice to have a welcome binder with the check in/out, how to use instructions, and local information all in one place instead of the loose leaf pages in random places. In particular, there is a septic system which means only toilet paper to be flushed. This in itself is not an issue, we have a septic system at home, but the notice was tucked away out of view, we didn't notice it until the day we were leaving. There was a lovely outdoor firepit but no way to light a fire. When crossing a border it is not possible to bring your own firewood. I would gladly pay extra for firewood and matches to be able to enjoy all the facilities advertised.
