This is in a great location, super close to everything. The host was kind and responsive. There is the possibility of off-street parking.
When the basics work, it is easy to pardon old windows, creaky floors, walls in need of paint, and such things that come with an old, lived-in building to save a little money over staying at a hotel. Unfortunately, we ran into several issues. The main one being that the water was shut off with no notice on when it for how long on the full day we were there. It eventually resolved, but had to take an appointment without being able to shower.
When we arrived, apparently the cleaner had to leave with short notice and didn't finish or tell the landlord so there was still dirty laundry and such around. All the windows were open so it was very chilly. After a short discussion, the landlord came to finish it later and was apologetic. The floors were still not swept but it wasn't terrible. But, there were several regular things missing that made me think this was more to rent longer term when you are bringing more of your own items with you.
At one point during the night, someone knocked and then tried the door handle. We didn't answer, we were not expecting any company. Landlord reassured it was safe and to make sure the outside door was shut tight - it's needs an extra pull to close and latch. We had no further disturbances.
The windows are not sound proof, and the walls are thin, but it was not noisy unless maint work was going on.
Overall, this could be a really good place, but it needs some care put into it. It will work if you just need a bed and (hopefully) a shower.
