So much to like! Location is peaceful & quiet. Surrounded by green fields where we watched deer, bunnies, bats, swallows, cows, all from your comfy rocking chairs from the garden. It felt like we were in story book. The house was clean and had everything you need and the hosts were helpful and quick replying when we communicated with them. The fireplace was beautiful on the chilly rainy nights. And the hot tub was a gorgeous way to relax after walking all day. Thank you for a lovely stay. We didn't want to go home.
These are not things we didn't like, but maybe just a couple things to mention to make the stay that extra luxury feel. Or for people to realise before they come.
House was immaculate but one thing that did disappoint us is in the main bedroom had quite bad damp damage on the ceiling.
Just so people are aware, the roads leading into the house are quite narrow. We were in a large campervan (Sainsbury's food truck) and just about managed to get in and out and park. Got used to it after the third day but just incase anyone is booking with a large vehicle.
Just a few things I think would make this so perfect would be a few complimentary items when you arrive. Maybe a bottle of wine, local bakery bread, or a cake. Just a personal touch that would have made it feel special walking in. And this is a personal thing but leather sofas feel cold and slippy, hard to get cosy and comfortable. But I can understand they are easier to clean. So maybe a few more soft blankets to cuddle under?
Finally just for the tall people out there, upstairs has very low beams you have to duck under! The cottage is original and it's part of the charm, but oh my, we banged our heads alot. 🤭 even though there's signs everywhere. 😅
