For a classic beach day, drive north to Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area or down toward Waikoloa Beach Resort for dining and shopping. The Kohala Coast is best explored by car from here. It suits travelers who want golf and recreation close to home, with the coast ready when the mood strikes.



Getting Around:

Kona International Airport is about 25 to 30 minutes away, a straightforward drive down the Kohala Coast. A rental car is recommended since the coastal beaches, resort shopping, and dining are a short drive from this upcountry golf community. The village center offers a few walkable shops and eateries. Parking is typically available on site or in nearby lots without much hassle.
