This charming property, situated half a mile from the centre of the pretty town of Harlech, is perfect for couples or small families looking to experience the coast and countryside of North Wales. Sleeping four across two comfortable bedrooms with breathtaking views of Tremadog Bay and the Llyn Peninsula, this cottage offers an unforgettable stay. Spend hours outside in the beautiful gardens, reading a book in the garden swing or taking in the views over an al fresco drink in one of the seating areas.
The holiday home, which sits in the grounds of a Grade II-listed stone house, is cosy and welcoming. Pastel tones and wooden furniture create a peaceful atmosphere in the lounge, while a large window that looks out to sea is an ideal spot to gaze out of with your morning coffee. The delightful twin room has a seaside feel that children will love, while the double bedroom features quaint wooden furniture and neutral decor for a tranquil night’s sleep. And outside, a terraced garden is the perfect spot for dining in the sunshine.
The golden sands of Harlech Beach are just a mile away; take a stroll through the Morfa Harlech Nature Reserve on the north side where you may spot rare birds and plants. Head off to the Italianate village of Portmeirion, just 8.5 miles away, which has served as the location for lots of films and TV shows over the years. Take the kids on a train ride on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway from Porthmadog (9 miles) and alight at Tan Y Bwlch for a walk along the nature trail to Llyn Mair picnic site. And if you’re up for a hike, try the 3-mile trail that starts on the banks of Llyn Cwm Bychan (6 miles) and takes you up the Roman Steps to Bwlch Tyddiad.
