About this cottage rental
Designed for family celebrations and group get-togethers, this impressive detached house is located just 2.5 miles from the seaside resort of Polzeath. Renowned for its sandy beach and excellent surfing waves, the village is also home to a choice of shop, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Stride out on the coastal path and enjoy extraordinary views from the Pentire Headland, Lundy Bay and Port Quin looking out for seals and dolphins as you go. The historic fishing village of Port Isaac is just 5 miles away, home of real-life choir Fisherman’s Friends and the fictional Doc Martin TV series. Take a ferry from Rock (4 miles) across to the vibrant harbour town of Padstow, where the excellent foodie destinations range from fish and chips to fine dining. For a change, book a round of golf at St Enodoc (4.5 miles), or tour the historic Pencarrow House & Garden (8 miles).
This spectacular property, built in 2021, features crisp, clean lines, pale walls and a palette of neutral colours, punctuated with natural textures and the occasional eye-catching pattern. Full of natural light, and with cosy underfloor heating throughout, it has a tranquil ambience and plenty of luxurious touches to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. From the double-height hallway, stroll up three steps and through to the dramatic lounge, where a wood burner creates a focal point, perfect for snuggling up after days on the beach or on a winter’s evening. Sink into the plush seating and start to really unwind, perhaps setting up a family movie on the Smart TV. In warm weather you’ll want to open the bi-fold doors to the garden and create a fresh-air feeling. The lounge flows, via three steps down, to the generous kitchen/diner, where a long dining table takes centre stage. Cooking is easy in the sleek kitchen, which includes an island unit with a breakfast bar for two and all the appliances you could need, including a microwave and a dishwasher. There’s also a utility room, which has laundry facilities and access to the converted garage that is now a games room, complete with table tennis and pool, plus storage for surf boards, wet suits and other outdoor gear. One of the three king-size bedrooms is also on the ground floor, boasting a refreshing, en-suite shower room. Completing this level is a useful separate WC. Take the stairs to the first floor to find a peaceful reading area on the large, bright mezzanine that overlooks the lounge.
