About this house rental
In winter that combination is the whole point. Park once. Walk to dinner instead of driving on ice. Ski the high country all day, then come back to a warm gas fireplace, a full kitchen, and a laundry that runs while you eat.
Warm, and built for it. Gas fireplace in the living room, lit from a wall switch — no matches, no waiting on anyone. Heat and A/C in all rooms, and extra blankets in every closet. One guest who stayed through a deep cold snap put it plainly: "We were there during a very cold period, but the unit stayed warm, and there were extra blankets and space heaters just in case."
Hosts Beth and Donevon live nearby. A question at 9 pm, tips on local services, a restaurant to recommend — they're a text away, and guests mention them in review after review.
An extremely popular vacation home in the summer, the Loft is also an ideal home base in Golden for the winter months:
Mines families. The campus is directly across the street. Fall commencement, December move-out, January move-in, Career Day, and admissions visits are all a five-minute walk — no parking, no shuttle, no hotel on the highway. Two bedrooms and a real kitchen mean a family of four can spread out and cook.
Skiers using Golden as basecamp. Five minutes to I-70 puts Loveland, Eldora, Winter Park, Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, and Breckenridge in range for a day trip — downtown Breckenridge is 68 miles door to door. Golden sits at 5,700 feet — thousands of feet lower and noticeably warmer than the resorts, at a fraction of the nightly rate. In-unit washer and dryer for wet gear, full kitchen for early breakfasts, and a fireplace you can have going within a minute of walking in.
Holidays with family in Golden or Denver. Thanksgiving, Christmas week, and New Year's. Downtown Golden runs its Candlelight Walk, Holiday Parade, and Olde Golden Holidays through December, and Washington Avenue is two blocks away. Guests visiting relatives here consistently tell us the same thing — they want their own space nearby, not a spare room.
Working from the Loft. A dedicated desk and chair with fast, free wifi, in a quiet unit on a residential block — take calls without the coffee-shop noise, or work from the coffee shop less than a block away, then walk to lunch on Washington Avenue. Remote workers, visiting Mines faculty, nurses on assignment at St. Anthony or Lutheran, and Front Range house-hunters have all used it as a week-or-longer base.
Longer stays and relocations. Stay 7 nights or more and save 10%; 14 nights, 15%; 30 nights, 20%. Booking within 14 days of arrival also takes 10% off. Fully furnished, in-unit laundry, and a quiet residential block make this an easy landing spot for anyone house-hunting on the Front Range, on a work assignment, or in Golden for a season.
What's here. Two bedrooms, two full baths, open living area with the gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, in-unit washer and dryer, office desk and fast wifi, balcony with mountain views. Fresh fruit, snacks, sparkling water, and quality toiletries are waiting when you arrive.
Guests describe the place as immaculate in 218 consecutive five-star reviews on Airbnb, and we work to keep it that way.
Golden in winter. Washington Avenue's restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries are two blocks away, and Golden stays open and busy year-round. The Coors Brewery tour is a five-minute walk down 13th Street and runs daily regardless of weather. Late January brings UllrGrass and the Colorado Cowboy Gathering; the first Saturday of February is Goldens in Golden. Clear Creek's trail is two blocks north for a cool-morning walk. Downtown Denver is 25 minutes, Boulder about 35, and Denver Airport about 40 minutes drive.
Guest access. The entire loft is yours. A street-parking pass is provided for one vehicle on the block; a nearby public lot handles a second car. The garages on the property aren't available for guest parking. The walking path along the fence from 13th Street is cleared after every snow.
Worth knowing. Entry is up a couple of exterior steps, then a flight of interior stairs to the living room — worth knowing if stairs are difficult for anyone in your group. Smoke-free and pet-free.
Occupancy of the unit is limited to four (4) adults and their dependents, if any.
