The village of Ravenglass is surrounded by historical intrigue – discover Muncaster Castle just a short walk away (1.5 miles) or the fascinating Roman Bath House just up the road (0.5 miles). It’s impossible to appreciate the local area without a day trip on its hidden gem, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Known locally as La’al Ratty, this 7-mile railway line begins right here in the fishing village and takes its passengers up into the Eskdale Valley, passing mountains and stunning landscapes as it goes.
