About the home

“Hemmet” is a delightful split-level family home in Sunset Strip, opposite the newly constructed bike path and just a short drive from the beach and the supermarkets, restaurants, and cafés of Cowes and Cape Woolamai. Nestled among peaceful native bushland, this welcoming coastal retreat offers light-filled interiors, leafy surrounds, and glimpses of the water, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing family getaway. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below.

Indoor Areas

Up 8 stairs from the entry, the light-filled open-plan Kitchen/Dining/Living area (with a Smart TV with Chromecast and a selection of books/board games/magazines) is the heart of the home, featuring polished timber floors, comfortable lounge seating, and large windows with leafy and water glimpses for guests to enjoy. This inviting space flows seamlessly onto the covered Deck, creating a wonderful indoor-outdoor setting where guests can relax and unwind.

On the entry level, a central Hallway leads to Bedrooms 1, 2 & 3 (all with BIR), along with the central Bathroom (with shower & toilet), another separate Toilet, and a Laundry (with a washing machine & clothes airer) for added convenience.

Outdoor Areas

Take in the peaceful surroundings from the covered upstairs Balcony (with a gas BBQ & 6-seater outdoor dining setting) and tranquil leafy outlooks with glimpses of the water. It's the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind after a day exploring the local area.

The generous rear lawn provides plenty of space for children to play, while the quiet location in Sunset Strip places you just minutes from Smiths Beach, YCW Beach, and the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Whether you're planning beach days, surfing adventures, wildlife encounters, or motorsport events, this home is the perfect base to experience it all. This home has off-street parking in the Driveway for up to three vehicles (cars and/or a boat) and there is street parking available too.

Kitchen

The fully appointed Kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, a microwave, an Nespresso coffee pod machine, a toaster, a kettle, etc., plus a double sink, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, a gas oven and cooktop.

Heating/Cooling Systems

There is a wall-mounted reverse-cycle air conditioner in the upstairs Kitchen/Dining/Living room, ceiling fans in Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3, plus additional portable heaters, which can be used where required.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 4 beds, and 1 sofa bed, accommodating up to 8 guests:

Bedroom 1 (Downstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 2 (Downstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 3 (Downstairs): Two Single beds

There is also a Double sofa bed in the Living room, suitable for 2 adults or children.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
