About this house rental

Summary:

Tucked into 20 private acres abutting conservation land in North Sandwich, this solar-powered mountain home is a true four-season White Mountains basecamp—off the grid without giving up modern comforts. Watch the Sandwich Range light up from the picture window, gather on the screened-in porch, and unwind by the fire pit. With two full kitchens and three levels creating two separate spaces, friends and multigenerational groups can spread out with added privacy.

The Space:

Garden Level — Arrival + Second Living Space

You'll enter through the walkout garden level, straight into a mudroom outfitted with hooks and shelving for boots, coats, and gear — the wood stove here (firewood provided) keeps the whole entry warm through the colder months. This level is fully self-contained: a fully equipped kitchen with a stainless steel fridge, stainless steel gas range, toaster oven, and coffee machine, plus a living room with a sectional, TV, and a small table for meals or games. Tile flooring runs throughout. A staircase off the mudroom leads up to the main level — or stay put, since this level works as its own private apartment.

Main Level — Kitchen, Dining & Living

Head upstairs to the heart of the home: an open-concept layout where the kitchen, dining, and living areas flow together. The kitchen is full-size and fully equipped — an island with seating for four, farmhouse sink, stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, gas range, coffee maker, and toaster. It opens directly to a dining table that seats six on one side, and to the screened porch on the other. The living room centers on a large sectional facing a wood-burning fireplace, with a picture window framing the Sandwich Range beyond. Hardwood floors run throughout. There is no air conditioning on this level, so the screened porch and operable windows are your best friends on warm summer days.

Upper Level — Bedrooms

A second staircase off the main-level kitchen leads to all three bedrooms and the home's third full bathroom, connected by a central hallway. Hardwood continues throughout, with tile in the bathroom.

Sleeping Arrangements (11 Guests)

Bedroom 1 (Upper level): Queen bed, mountain views directly from bed, alcove sofa (usable as toddler bed)

Bedroom 2 (Upper level): Queen bed

Bedroom 3 (Upper level): Office with full-size futon — flexible workspace or third sleeping room

4th Sleeping Area (Garden level): Twin-over-full bunk bed

5th Sleeping Area (Garden level): Queen alcove bed

Bathrooms (2.5 Total)

Bathroom 1 (Garden level): Full bath, tub/shower combo

Bathroom 2 (Main level): Half bath

Bathroom 3 (Upper level): Full bath, shower/tub combo with glass sliding door, shared by all three bedrooms

Outdoor Living

Screened Porch: Vaulted ceiling, just off the main kitchen — outdoor dining table seating six, a Charbroil gas grill (propane provided), and a swing bench facing the mountains directly, with a clear sightline down to the yard and swing set.

Grounds: A large, tree-lined lot with wide-open Sandwich Range views. Down a set of stone steps in the side yard, a maintained garden features a bird bath and stone bench seating.

Outdoor Shower: Private, tucked into the trees.

Fire Pit: Wood-burning, surrounded by Adirondack chairs — the evening gathering spot once the sun drops behind the ridgeline.

Grill: Charbroil gas grill on the screened porch, propane provided.
