A Colonia style guesthouse, feels as if stepping back in time, has a rustic, calm and charming character, even a alter with mootis situated centrally in the premises. The staff and the owner were very welcoming and accommodating, nothing too much for them. On the whole was a pleasant stay, can recommend.
Check out time, 10am, gave barely anytime to go in search of coffee and breakfast, would suggest an 11am, even a midday checkout.

The location, the heritage house, and its beautiful ambience made this stay truly special. We have an old family home in Dum Dum, North Kolkata, yet I chose to stay here to experience the charm of living in a heritage house. Every year, during Durga Puja, I visit Beniatola, but this time, I decided to make the experience a little more special by staying in a heritage home. In fact, I had visited this house a few years ago for photography but hadn't stayed overnight. I was determined not to miss the opportunity this time! Unfortunately, I couldn't get a room during Durga Puja itself, which would have made the experience even more exciting. Nevertheless, my stay was thoroughly enjoyable. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners and family members, including Abhijeet Babu, and experiencing their warmth and hospitality. The house is beautifully maintained and renovated, preserving its old-world charm while ensuring a comfortable stay. The staff members are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. One thing worth keeping in mind is that this is not a conventional hotel; it is a heritage home where you are welcomed with a sense of warmth and belonging. The experience is less about formal hotel service and more about enjoying the homely atmosphere, the history, and the character of the place. For me, the experience was also somewhat personal. As a student of Baranagar Ramakrishna Mission, I felt an immediate connection with the small temple dedicated to Sri Sarada Devi, Sri Ramakrishna, and Swami Vivekananda, located just beyond the entrance, beside the Thakur Dalan. That little corner made the place feel almost like a haven to me. I would wholeheartedly recommend this heritage home to anyone who appreciates old Kolkata, traditional architecture, history, and genuine hospitality. I would love to return, hopefully during Durga Puja next time, to experience the house in all its festive splendour. A memorable stay, a beautiful heritage home,
Just a few minor things as constructive feedback - The entrance is quite narrow, and during Durga Puja, the area around Beniatola gets very crowded, making it difficult for cars to reach the property. So, plan accordingly if you intend to visit during the festive season. Some modern conveniences, such as stronger Wi-Fi, toilet tissue, and a hair dryer, might be appreciated by younger travellers. However, these are not essential amenities when choosing to experience the charm of an old heritage home. The owner was particularly kind and even lent me his own hair dryer during my stay! Overall, these are minor considerations that do little to diminish the warmth and charm of the experience.

The location of the homestay was excellent; The host was very helpful and considering the fact that they started new, they are doing pretty well. They are also considering expanding it in future and opening a cafe on the top. The rooms give a very homely feeling and had that 90's taste. It was a wonderful experience
I encountered one of the trustees there, I found his behaviour a bit rude

If you are staying in BoroBari don’t forget to take photos.. it’s perfect backdrop and genuine Bengali culture. The staff is courteous, polite and helpful. Abhijeet Da (owner) is exceptional in taking care of the guests. He personally oversees the needs and ensures comfort is delivered.
No car parking but, that’s was coz of Durga pujo preparation. Everything else was perfect
