Alternatively, head to delightful Woodhall Spa (20.5 miles) where you’ll find the unique Kinema in the Woods.


A thoughtful refurbishment (completed in 2026) has converted this former radar station into two modern, high-specification apartments, which can be booked separately or together. In this stunning, reverse-level escape, quality is evident throughout, from furniture to appliances, with underfloor heating on both floors and a sophisticated colour scheme of mostly neutral tones that feels very calming. Enter through the patio doors into a small seating area, where you can leave your outdoor gear. From here, several steps take you up to the bedroom, with its ample storage space, dressing table and beautiful super-king-size bed, made up with gorgeous linens. When you’re ready to freshen up, step into the en-suite shower room, with its elegant décor and walk-in shower. On the first floor is an impressive, open-plan living space that combines a lounge area with a kitchen that includes a spacious breakfast bar where four people can dine. This light-filled room has gorgeous views over the surrounding fields through its extensive windows. Sink into the soft seating (which includes a double sofa bed) and enjoy the connection to nature, or pull down the blinds and stream your favourite shows on the Smart TV. Put together delicious meals in the sleek kitchen, which boasts a microwave as well as a dishwasher to make cleaning up quick and painless.


Sliding doors lead out to the fabulous balcony, which has the same incredible views, and is furnished for al fresco drinks and dining. It also boasts a pair of sun loungers, ready for lazy summer days. The gated drive also has space to park three cars, making arrivals and departures easy.
