The Space

An experience, not just a stay. Tideline Bainbridge sits directly on the water in Rolling Bay, one of Bainbridge Island’s oldest beach communities. The Puget Sound is your front yard. Launch the kayaks or paddleboard right from the door. Binoculars wait on every floor for the orcas, harbor seals, sea lions, otters, bald eagles, and great blue herons, while container ships and sailboats glide past Seattle in the distance. Guests say they lose hours here watching the tides turn and the sky change. It’s the thing they mention most.

A new home with deep roots. The 1922 structure was taken down to its shell and rebuilt over four years, so everything is new, from the floors to the windows to the appliances, while the soul of the place remains. Original paintings, artist-signed lithographs, and antique prints line the walls; the bookshelves were hand-selected, a few volumes dating to the 1800s.

Rest is taken seriously. Casper mattresses in all three bedrooms, a jaw-dropping primary suite with a spa-like bath, a lovely queen guest room, and a cozy den. The chef’s kitchen is fully outfitted with Italian cookware and German knives, ready for a real meal with a view. Add an OLED TV, a well-equipped laundry room, and games and gear for every kind of day.
It’s family-friendly and deeply peaceful at once, with open spaces to gather and quiet nooks to slip away. As one guest put it, the calm here “goes to the marrow.”

House Rules:

1. Please drive a maximum of 5 mph when you are on "The Walk", which is the shared driveway that is used by the neighborhood. Many children and pets run around our community.

2. Only the number of guests listed in your reservation are permitted on the property and no other guests are allowed at our home. This is because our home is insured for only the guests staying with us and our septic system cannot support extra people. If you are interested in renting other homes on Rolling Bay Walk or on Bainbridge Island to accommodate a larger party, our home will not be available or participating. If you bring a group larger than your reservation size to our home, we reserve the right to immediately cancel your reservation.

3. Maximum of two children/infants under the age of 18 due to risk of damages.

4. No bachelorette/bachelor parties or drinking type gatherings. Our neighbors are very close and the average age of our community is 70+. If you are a party-type crowd, this is not the place for you.

5. Quiet hours outside are 10:00pm - 7:00am given that neighbor bedrooms are within earshot. This means soft voices outside during those times. And during the day, please be do not play loud outside music or allow continuous loud outside voices/screaming (such as from children).

6. Please only flush toilet paper down the toilets (no Kleenex or anything else) and put nothing down the sink drains (like coffee grounds). Our home has an extremely complicated septic system and intense regulations because we are a few feet away from the Puget Sound.

7. No pets because a member of our family has serious pet allergies.

8. If you wish to use the kayaks or paddle board, each participant must sign a waiver ahead of time (please request the waiver from me) and wear a lifejacket. And two people are required to lift the kayaks on and off the racks.

9. No smoking or vaping inside.

10. Do not use/access the pier/dock next door to our house. It is private property and owned by another neighbor.

11. Do not block the Walk with your cars. One car can easily be parked in the carport next to our house. Another car can be closely parked parallel to the garage doors, but be sure there is ample space for delivery trucks and other large vehicles to get past.

12. Please only put recycling in the blue bins in the parking lot, and put all trash in the garbage area. Make sure the lids of the bins close completely because animals can get in and cause a big mess. If the trash bin for our house, labeled BOGIN”, is full, you can use the “AIRBNB OVERFLOW” bin in the same garbage area.
