Horrible experience, stay away...

The location. I was in Cluj Napoca for a 2 day course and the apartment was right next to where the course was organized.

It is not on the ground floor, it is in the basement. Probably a storage space converted to a living space. There was a horrible smell that just didn't clear up, even though the window, that was on the level of the street, was open all the time. The door frames were really low, I hit my head a few times, luckily didn't need stitches, but did get a nasty cut. There were no hangers, no television, nowhere to dry clothes even though there was a washing machine. The kitchen was really poorly equipped, 2 spoons, a few cups and a pan. These hosts are probably new to the bussiness and have no idea what they are doing. On the first morning, the hot water was disrupted because the gas boiler had a defect. The host did get it repaired by the next day. The reason for 3 points. 1 for the location, and 2 more because the hosts seemed like decent folks. The towels looked a bit dirty, old, a bit discoloured, which is odd considering the property was recently renovated. The hosts knew about the smell and tried to mask it, which made it worse. Overall, one of the worst experiences I ever had. Luckily I was alone and at the course the whole day. The host needs to spend a day or two at the property and resolve all the issues, not just try to rent it out even though there are so many problems. There are some that only come to light when one lives there. Just in the shower/toilet - the wash basin is too shallow, the tap is too close to the margin, so a lot of splashing. The shower cord leaks a little. The cabinet in the corner smells of mold. The toilet is installed a bit too high, while the door frame is really low. A tall person will bang his head on the door frame and an average sized person will have his feet dangling in the air on the toilet. Maybe shape shifting aliens that don't mind the smell would be comfortable in this space.

Superb location.

Location is superb, close to the old center and close to the Central Park. It was clean, except the bad smell in the kitchen. The temperature inside was very pleasant, although the outside temperature was over 30C.

The bad smell in the kitchen. There were garbage bins right under the kitchen window. We kept the window closed, but that did not help enough. We could not get the Wifi to work, even though we asked the host about it.

Location is superb, close to the old center and close to the Central Park. It was clean, except the bad smell in the kitchen. The temperature inside was very pleasant, although the outside temperature was over 30C.
