Town: The picturesque gritstone village of Birchover is believed to once have been used by Druids as a ceremonial worship site. There’s a rock formation called Rowtor Rocks, with caves and carvings, prehistoric monuments and stone circles, including The Nine Ladies overlooking the village on Stanton Moor (where you can also find the Cork Stone). At Robin Hood's Stride and Cratcliffe Tor, a medieval hermit's cave can also be explored.
