The Neighbourhood
Sunshine Beach
Sunshine Beach is loved for its beautiful stretch of sand, excellent surf and relaxed village atmosphere. Just a 600m stroll from Private Oasis, beneath a canopy of lush greenery and pandanus palms, Sunshine Beach Village on Duke Street offers an appealing mix of stylish boutiques, restaurants, cafés and bars, along with a hairdresser, homewares and gift stores, Pilates and yoga studios and a boutique bottle shop.
Across the road, the recently renovated and award-winning Sunshine Beach Surf Club enjoys spectacular, uninterrupted ocean views. It is the perfect place to enjoy a meal or drink while watching the waves — between June and October, keep an eye out for migrating humpback whales.
Noosa Heads
Recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Noosa is a remarkable coastal destination where pristine beaches, the Noosa River, National Park and hinterland come together.
Spend the day swimming at Noosa Main Beach, surfing within the Noosa World Surfing Reserve, exploring the spectacular coastal and rainforest trails of Noosa National Park, or enjoying a sunset picnic overlooking the river mouth.
At the heart of Noosa is iconic Hastings Street, renowned for its exceptional dining, cafés, bars and boutique shopping. Alongside the restaurants and fashion stores you'll find galleries, homewares, surf shops and plenty of places to settle in and enjoy the relaxed Noosa lifestyle.
Noosa Junction
Just over the hill from Hastings Street, Noosa Junction — affectionately known by locals as “The Junga” — has its own distinctive energy and charm.
This lively village is home to an eclectic collection of restaurants, bars, cafés, live music venues, fashion boutiques and laneways, together with night markets, street art and galleries. It is a favourite with locals and visitors looking for a more relaxed and contemporary Noosa experience.
Noosaville
Following the Noosa River, Noosaville is a vibrant waterfront destination centred around its beautiful 2km grassy foreshore.
The river provides endless opportunities for swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing and jet skiing, while the restaurants, cafés and bars along Gympie Terrace and Thomas Street offer everything from relaxed waterfront dining to contemporary Australian cuisine and international flavours.
Noosaville is also well served for shopping, with boutiques offering beachwear, fashion, surfboards, footwear, homewares and more.
Cruising the Noosa River
One of the loveliest ways to explore the area is by water. Noosa Ferries operate custom-built classic riverboats between Hastings Street, Noosaville and Tewantin, with seven stops along the Noosa River. A one-way journey takes approximately 40 minutes and offers a wonderfully relaxed way to experience the waterways and surrounding landscape.
Tewantin
Located along the Noosa River, Tewantin has retained its relaxed, village-style character. Its pedestrian-friendly main street is particularly beautiful during summer when the magnificent poinciana trees burst into vibrant orange-red bloom.
Once an important timber town and river port for the Noosa region, Tewantin is now home to the Noosa Marina, riverside shops and restaurants, regular craft and produce markets and the vehicular ferry providing access to Noosa's North Shore and beyond.
The Noosa Hinterland
Just inland from the coast, the Noosa Hinterland makes for a wonderful day trip. Rolling green valleys, country villages, historic pubs, galleries, cafés, vintage stores and local markets provide a completely different side of the Noosa region.
The hinterland encompasses charming towns including Eumundi, Cooroy, Pomona, Kin Kin and Cooran, as well as the extraordinary Noosa Everglades.
One of only two everglades systems in the world, the Noosa Everglades stretch for approximately 60km through pristine waterways, wetlands and magnificent native landscapes, providing an unforgettable opportunity to experience the region's natural beauty.
Peregian Beach
Heading south, Peregian Beach is a favourite with locals and visitors for its laid-back, quintessentially Australian beach atmosphere.
At the heart of the village is Peregian Beach Village Square, surrounded by boutique stores, cafés, restaurants and takeaways tucked beneath shady trees. The popular Peregian Beach Markets are held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday morning of each month, showcasing local makers, produce and artisan treasures.
