About this apartment rental

Summary:

Welcome to The Briar, a Rove Travel Home!

Rove offers beautifully designed residences with the quality and care of a 5-star hotel.

The Space:

Welcome to The Briar, a stylish one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath apartment in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, where contemporary design meets effortless city living. Thoughtfully appointed with modern furnishings, expansive living spaces, and elegant finishes, this inviting residence offers a comfortable retreat just moments from Midtown Manhattan. The open-concept living and dining area is filled with natural light, while the fully equipped kitchen features premium appliances and everything needed for relaxing meals or entertaining after a day in the city.

Set across two levels, the residence offers a sense of separation rarely found in the city, and sleeps up to four. Upstairs, the serene primary bedroom is anchored by a king bed and generous closet space, complemented by a beautifully appointed full bath. The downstairs living room extends the sleeping arrangements with a full-over-full bunk bed and a sleeper sofa, comfortably accommodating adults as well as children.

Residents enjoy an exceptional suite of amenities: a fully equipped fitness center and dedicated yoga studio, a shared coworking space, an elegant residents’ lounge, a landscaped inner courtyard, a furnished rooftop terrace with grilling stations, and an indoor children’s playroom, a rare and welcome find in this part of the city.

Set on a quiet block of West 52nd Street at Ninth Avenue, moments from the neighborhood’s celebrated restaurant corridor, the Hudson River waterfront, and the Broadway theaters. Whether you're visiting for business, an extended stay, or a New York getaway, this chic apartment offers the perfect blend of comfort, style, and an exceptional location.

The Neighborhood:

Hell’s Kitchen has become one of Manhattan’s most rewarding places to actually live, and West 52nd Street sits at the quieter, more residential end of it. Ninth Avenue, one block east, is the neighborhood’s great strength: a genuine restaurant corridor rather than a tourist strip, where Chalong serves some of the most acclaimed southern Thai food in the city, Norma turns out Sicilian pasta and pizza to consistently full rooms, and Westville draws a devoted weekend brunch crowd. Pasta Eater is a favorite for handmade pasta before a show, and there are dozens more within a few blocks, spanning nearly every cuisine and price point.

The theater district begins a few streets south, and living here changes your relationship to it entirely. Nearly every Broadway house sits within a ten- to fifteen-minute walk, close enough to decide on a matinee over breakfast, to take a chance on rush/lottery/TKTS tickets an hour before curtain, or to walk home afterward through the neighborhood rather than queuing for a cab. Restaurant Row on West 46th, the traditional pre-theater block, is seven minutes away, and the off-Broadway stages and cabaret rooms scattered through Hell’s Kitchen make for quieter evenings between the big shows. For a longer stay, it means seeing far more theater than a visitor ever manages — the walk is short enough that a Tuesday night show stops feeling like an occasion.

Daily life is easy here. Coffee Project, three blocks north, roasts seriously good coffee, while Dot’s Café on the same block offers tables, outlets, and room to work. A chocolate and gelato café sits directly across the street, and a 24-hour market a block and a half south handles the late arrivals and forgotten essentials that longer stays inevitably bring.

The neighborhood’s other great luxury is the water. The Hudson River waterfront is five minutes west, with landscaped parkland, piers, and a protected path running the length of Manhattan for running or cycling. Central Park is a fifteen-minute walk northeast, and Columbus Circle, Lincoln Center, and the Museum of Modern Art all sit within a comfortable radius.

Getting Around:

Getting around could not be simpler. The C and E at 50th Street and Eighth Avenue are a five-minute walk, reaching Midtown East, the West Village, and the Financial District without a transfer, while the 1 at Broadway is a block further on. Ten minutes north, Columbus Circle brings together the A, B, C, D, and 1 and is fully elevator-served, making it the most convenient station for step-free travel. The M11 runs along Ninth and Tenth Avenues, the M50 crosses town, and Port Authority is a ten-minute walk for regional and intercity buses. Penn Station, with Amtrak, LIRR, and NJ Transit, is a short ride or a twenty-minute walk south. Citi Bike docks sit at either end of the block, and the Hudson River Greenway, five minutes west, offers an uninterrupted protected route the length of Manhattan. For airport travel, the E connects directly to the AirTrain at Jamaica for JFK, and both LaGuardia and Newark are typically thirty-five to fifty minutes by car.
