Mellfell Cottage consists of an open-plan living area with a kitchen equipped with an electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher, along with a dining area and sitting area with a TV, Freeview, Blu-ray/DVD player, and woodburning stove. The bedrooms comprise one double and one family room with three single beds. There is a bathroom with a bath, shower over, basin, and WC. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent, along with a starter pack for the woodburning stove. A highchair is available on request. Outside, there is a patio with furniture and off-road parking for 2 cars. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 2.5 miles, pub 2 miles, lake 2 miles. Note: There is no electric car charging point at the property and charging electric vehicles from inside the property is not permitted. Just 2.5 miles away is Pooley Bridge with its array of amenities which sits on the northern shore of the lake in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley originated due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. Glenridding (meaning glen overgrown with bracken) is a small tourist village with a range of local shops, cafes and restaurants. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Watermillock is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
