The Neighborhood:

Shenandoah Heritage sits in Riverton, a quiet historic neighborhood on the edge of Front Royal where the North and South Forks of the Shenandoah River meet. Tree-lined streets and century-old homes give the area its character, and downtown Front Royal is a few minutes away with restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and local stores. The northern entrance to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive is close by, along with river access, hiking trails, and a growing list of wineries throughout Warren County.



Getting Around:

A vehicle will be required to reach nearby attractions, trailheads, and wineries. Roads to the property are paved and easy to navigate in any season, and the driveway has plenty of room for the vehicles of your group. Downtown Front Royal is a short drive, and rideshare service is available in the area though not always immediate.

🐕 Pet Policy • Shenandoah Heritage is unfortunately not pet-friendly, so pets of any kind are not permitted. If you are traveling with a furry friend, take a look at our profile, where several of our other properties welcome dogs. Service animals are always welcome here, and we ask for advance notice when possible so our cleaning team can prepare appropriately.



🏛️ Historic Home • Built in 1870 and meticulously maintained, the home has been fully renovated with updated systems, fresh finishes, and modern comforts throughout, while keeping the original woodwork, hardwood floors, and historic details intact. It is in excellent condition and cared for continuously. As with any home of this age, you will notice the character that comes with it: floors and stairs that settle and creak, rooms and doorways that vary in size, and original woodwork with a patina no new build can reproduce.



🚗 Getting Here & Winter Weather • Accessing the property is via paved roads. Standard 2WD is fine most of the year; during snow or ice, AWD or 4WD is recommended and occasionally required, and we’ll share access guidance ahead of any winter storm.



🚼 Family-Friendly • Traveling with little ones? A pack ’n play and full-size high chair are provided.



🧯 Safety & Cleanliness • All bedding is washed between every reservation. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed throughout. The hot tub is not gated, so children should be supervised around it at all times.



🦌 Wildlife • Nestled among a small residential community near the Shenandoah River, you’ll likely spot deer, wild turkeys, and the occasional fox. While regularly serviced by pest control, insects and small critters can make an appearance now and then.



🏡 Privacy • Riverton is a quiet residential neighborhood with homes close by, so guests may notice neighbors, pets, or children in the area. We ask that you help preserve the peaceful setting by keeping in mind that voices, music, and other noise can carry beyond the property, particularly in the backyard and on the screened porch.
