This Swedish log cabin, built in 1942, sits next to Asserbo Plantage on a 1,700-square-metre natural plot with tall trees. The 16-square-metre orangery's directly accessible from the house—perfect for a summer evening or an autumn night with a blanket draped over your legs. In the living room, you’ll find a cosy nook with an armchair and a record player. Legend has it that the resistance fighter Flammen built and owned the house, and, according to the story, he also sought refuge here during the occupation. The house features an entryway, a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, and a renovated bathroom. Here, you can make coffee in classic holiday home style—using a kettle on the stove and a French press. The bedroom's on the first floor. Adjacent to the living room is the “forest room,” where the last thing you’ll see before falling asleep is a view up into the treetops—a room without a door or curtains. The house is ideal for two couples or a family. The natural grounds are dotted with beautiful tall trees, and two wooden decks invite you to spend time outdoors. Depending on the season, flowers, grass, and wild plants adorn the roof of the house, and the rhododendron bushes bloom in May. During the colder months, you can light the cast-iron wood-burning stove indoors. If you cross Nyvej, you’ll find yourself right in Asserbo Plantage, with trails of various sizes that lead, among other places, to Asserbo Beach. Nearby is the seaside town of Liseleje, with its beach, ice cream shops and small stores. Hundested Harbour, Tisvildeleje and Rabarbergården are also worth a visit. Gilleleje, Louisiana and Helsingør are all within about an hour’s drive.
