About this house rental
This country house in Nerhagen was originally built in 1875, and the interior remains true to that era. Log paneling on the interior walls, wallpaper, and furniture from the year of construction create an atmosphere that some have compared to an English country manor.
Inside, the style is rustic and period-appropriate, with color schemes and details from the year of construction throughout the house. From the dining room, living room, and loft, there are views of the sea where Nerhagen meets the water, with abundant birdlife and, at times, fish leaping at the surface. The house has been fully modernized with running water, electricity, a heat pump, and air conditioning.
Outdoors, there are several seating areas under large tree canopies, on the patio, and out on the large lawn. In season, there is an abundance of fruits and vegetables, and you are encouraged to help yourselves to grapes and vegetables from the orchard and greenhouse. The property is planted with roses in various colors and ornamental shrubs.
On the property, there is a beach house right by the water—perfect for shade and a breeze during the day or for warm summer evenings with a blanket. The island has several trails, and Norway’s smallest chapel is located in the forest, a 20-minute walk away. Nidelven Brygger, featuring a restaurant, bar, and live music, is about a 15-minute walk away.
