hadn't been short on time, we would have immediately complained to Booking and found another place
The only positive aspect of this accommodation was its location.
We traveled to Chisinau as a group of 7. Although the property had no reviews, we decided to take the risk because it was advertised as a deluxe apartment with 3bedrooms, 4beds, and 2bathrooms in the city center. The reality was very different.
The apartment had only 1 bedroom with a double bed and bathroom,1 room with 2 sofa beds, and a large living room with another sofa that could not be converted into a bed and was not prepared for sleeping. Although both sofa beds were unfolded, bedding was provided for only 1 person on each. There was also 1 additional bathroom and a kitchen, as advertised. In reality, however, the apartment was prepared for only 4 guests.
Fortunately, we found extra pillows and duvets in a wardrobe. The problem was that no clean bed linen had been prepared for them. Bed sheets were available, but they had just been washed after the previous guests and were still drying on the balcony. After we raised this issue, the host brought only one new set of bed linen, which had not even been washed.
Another unpleasant surprise was the level of cleanliness. Although the floors appeared to have been freshly cleaned, that seemed to be the only cleaning done after the previous guests left. The kitchen counters were sticky, the refrigerator was dirty and smelled musty, the previous guests' garbage had not been removed, and the bathrooms were in a similar condition. There was dust and hair on the shelves and inside the wardrobes.
If we wanted to unpack our belongings, we first had to clean the shelves ourselves using wet wipes. In the end, we decided not to use the wardrobes at all. We also chose not to use the refrigerator or kitchen because their hygienic condition was far below what anyone would reasonably expect from accommodation that is supposedly ready for guests. The accommodation was significantly different from what had been advertised, and its condition upon arrival was a major disappointment.
