About this house rental
Welcome to Firefly, a designer-decorated 6BR home in the heart of Massanutten. Outside, you'll love the new hot tub and barrel sauna, outdoor dining on the deck, and propane firepit. The interior of house was fully renovated in 2026 and features a living room with soaring ceiling and fireplace, two dining areas with ample seating, theater room, and game room for the kids. The house is large and sleeps 16 comfortably. Plus, pet friendly! Managed by Chris at New School Hosting.
The house is about a 7 minute drive to the slopes, pool, dining, and new mountain coaster at Massanutten, 4 minutes to the spa, and just 5 minutes to the indoor/outdoor Waterpark. The Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park is 15 minutes away with some of the best hiking on the east coast. JMU and everything else in Harrisonburg is 20 minutes away, and there are several breweries, wineries, and restaurants within 20 minutes of the house.
The home layout is as follows:
Outside:
- Upper deck features outdoor dining set, grill, and screened in porch great for conversation.
- Lower patio features a hot tub, barrel sauna, putting green, and propane firepit (propane provided).
Main level:
- Living room with vaulted ceilings, large smart TV, and electric fireplace.
- Fully stocked kitchen with large island and bar seating for 4.
- Dining area with 2 separate tables that each seat 8 (16 total)
- BR4: Bunk room / game room, with a twin-over-twin bunk set, air hockey, 3 arcades machines with multiple games each, poker table, karaoke machine, large TV, and wet bar with beverage fridge and dishwasher
- Half bath
- Laundry room
Upper level:
- BR1: Master bedroom with king bed, coffee station with Keurig, and ensuite bathroom with double vanity, soaker tub, and shower
- BR2: Queen bedroom
- BR3: Two twin bedroom
- Hallway full bath
Lower level:
- Theater room with 7 recliners and large smart TV
- BR5: King bedroom
- BR6: Bedroom with full bed and twin-over-full bunk bed

Other things to note:
- Firefly is pet friendly! We allow up to 4 pets with a $100 pet fee (total, not per pet or per night).
- Massanutten offers hiking, skiing, snowboarding, tubing, swimming, dining, spa, ropes course / zip line, golfing, go carts, mini golf, and Mountain Mayhem, the only mountain coaster in Virginia.
- The driveway can hold about 6 cars. There is an overflow parking lot available in Massanutten if needed.
- Wifi is fast with a strong signal throughout the house and decks.
- All bedrooms, living room, and theater rooms feature a smart TV where you can access all the main streaming services. We do not subscribe to cable.
- We provide a fully stocked coffee bar with multiple coffee drip and Keurig options.
- Guests can enjoy community pool access in the summer season for a small per person fee.
- Linens and towels provided
- Pack n play, high chair, and kid dishes/utensils provided.
- We do require a separate rental agreement, which we will send a link to e-sign after you book. There are no additional fees beyond those listed here.

This home is in a private residential neighborhood and is part of the Massanutten Property Owners Association (MPOA), governed by its rules and regulations. There are rental homes in all MPOA neighborhoods, but people also live here. Your nearby neighbors may be full-time residents, including families with children, retirees, second-home owners and other guests
enjoying their retreat.
NOISE
• Quiet hours: 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
• Keep noise indoors during these hours.
• No excessive noise at any time, as judged by MPOA or its assigned agents.
PARKING
• Keep all tires off the road.
• Don't block fire hydrants or park in front of another property without written approval
from your host.
• Park only in designated areas or overflow lot (4007 Peak Dr., Massanutten, VA 22840)
• No buses, campers, or RVs to be parked at homes or on roads. Overflow lot is
available with written approval from your host.
OUTDOOR FIRES
• High wildfire risk area!
• No open fires.
• No unattended fires.
• No firepit use during quiet hours (10:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Firepits and grills may be restricted during local emergency
conditions, check MassanuttenVillage(dot)com or electronic sign at
