CAN MASET is a beautiful and authentic Catalan country house surrounded by peaceful countryside in the Girona region. With accommodation for up to 15 guests plus 4 additional guests, a large private swimming pool, several terraces and plenty of space both indoors and outdoors, it is an excellent choice for several families or a larger group of friends travelling together.
The location offers the best of both worlds: you stay in quiet rural surroundings, while Banyoles, Girona, medieval villages, the volcanic landscapes of La Garrotxa and the beaches of the Costa Brava are all within easy reach.
THE HOUSE
CAN MASET is a traditional Catalan masia dating back to the 15th century. The house has been carefully restored while preserving its original character, architecture and traditional materials.
The accommodation is spacious and has several different living areas, making it particularly suitable for larger groups. There is plenty of room to spend time together, while the size and layout of the house also make it easy to find a quiet corner when you want some privacy.
The house has 7 bedrooms, with the possibility of arranging an additional sleeping area, and 4 bathrooms, including 2 ensuite bathrooms.
Several bedrooms and communal areas have air conditioning, helping to keep the house comfortable during the warmer summer months.
KITCHEN, DINING AND LIVING AREAS
The well-equipped kitchen is directly connected to one of the terraces, making it easy to prepare meals and enjoy them outdoors.
There are two dining areas as well as a comfortable living room, giving larger groups flexibility when spending time together.
One of the most popular indoor spaces is the activity and chill-out room with billiard table, television and sofa area – a great place for both children and adults to relax.
PRIVATE POOL AND OUTDOOR AREAS
Outside, CAN MASET offers plenty of space to enjoy the Mediterranean climate.
The large private swimming pool measures approximately 12 x 6 metres and is surrounded by a spacious terrace with sun loungers and areas for relaxing in the shade. The pool area is gated, which provides additional security when travelling with younger children.
The garden has lawns, mature trees and Mediterranean vegetation, and there is also a BBQ area for long summer evenings with family and friends.
Several terraces and outdoor areas around the house mean that there is always somewhere to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun, relax with a book or gather for dinner in the evening.
A PEACEFUL LOCATION – YET CLOSE TO EVERYTHING
CAN MASET is situated in the countryside near the small village of Vilavenut. The surroundings are characterised by fields, meadows and forests, creating a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere.
Despite the rural setting, you are not isolated.
Banyoles is only around 10–12 minutes away by car. The town is famous for its beautiful lake, where you can walk, cycle, swim or simply enjoy the scenery. Banyoles also has an attractive historic centre with shops, cafés and restaurants.
The medieval town of Besalú is approximately 20 minutes away and is one of the most picturesque historic towns in Catalonia.
Girona can be reached in approximately 30 minutes. Its beautifully preserved old town, colourful houses along the river, medieval streets, cathedral, restaurants and shops make it ideal for a day trip.
COSTA BRAVA BEACHES
One of the great advantages of CAN MASET is that you can combine a peaceful countryside holiday with days at the Mediterranean.
The beaches around L'Escala can be reached in approximately 35 minutes. Here you will find sandy beaches, smaller coves, restaurants and the Mediterranean atmosphere for which the Costa Brava is famous.
