About this house rental
Originally known as ‘The Whalers Cottage’, these timeless stays bring a piece of Hobart’s history to life with thoughtful modern comforts.
The first cottage offers a cosy living area with leather lounges, a TV and heating for cooler evenings. The kitchenette has the essentials for preparing a simple meal, though with plenty of restaurants within walking distance, dining out is always an enticing option. The private courtyard offers a sunny setting for morning coffee or alfresco meals. The bedroom has a queen bed, a TV, and hanging storage. A compact bathroom with a shower and rustic timber vanity completes the space.
The second cottage offers a similar living area with a brown leather sofa, TV, and heating, plus a well-equipped kitchen with a stovetop, oven, dishwasher, and mini-fridge. A kitchen bar with seating for two provides a casual spot for meals, while the private patio with bench seating invites time in the fresh air. The bedroom has a queen bed and TV, complemented by a bathroom with a shower and practical storage.
Both cottages have their own washer-dryer combo, adding everyday convenience for longer stays. While there is no on-site parking, the walkable location makes it easy to explore Salamanca and Hobart’s waterfront without a car.
During your stay, you and your group will have both townhouses entirely to yourselves. Please make yourselves at home!
Set in historic Battery Point, these cottages put some of Hobart’s best-loved dining, culture and waterfront experiences within an easy walk. Start with coffee and pastries at Jackman & McRoss, around 300 metres away, or settle in for Italian nearby. Arthur Circus Park is also just a few minutes away, bringing a leafy pocket of local history to the neighbourhood. Wander around five minutes to Salamanca Place for galleries, restaurants and bars, or browse Salamanca Market on Saturdays. Continue towards the waterfront and Brooke Street Pier, around a 10-minute walk away, where you can board the ferry to the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) and take in Hobart from the Derwent.
Due to local regulations, we can happily host you for up to 90 nights. Any bookings that exceed this duration will be cancelled by Vrbo.
