Our charming vacation home, which was completely renovated in 2025, is located on the edge of the green, small-scale bungalow park De Herkingse Zeedijk. The cottage is located directly behind the seawall, with Lake Grevelingen and Herkingen’s small beach just about 230 meters away.

From the living room, dining area, and sunny backyard, you can look out onto the green seawall, where sheep regularly stroll by. 't Strandhuisje has been furnished with great care and can accommodate up to 4 people and a child up to about 3 years old.

SLEEPING
The cottage has two bedrooms. The bedroom on the first floor features a comfortable 160 × 200 cm box spring with a mattress topper. On the upper floor, there is a 140 × 200 cm box spring with a mattress topper. Both beds are equipped with a double comforter and pillows. The upstairs bedroom has space for a travel cot (provided).
Bed linens and towels are included with your stay, so you don’t need to bring your own.

LIVING ROOM
The cozy living room has a spacious three-seater sofa and a comfortable armchair. From the living room, you’ll enjoy a lovely view of the garden and the dike.
The fireplace adds extra ambiance to the living room, but it’s purely decorative and cannot be used during your stay.

There is a Philips Smart TV with KPN TV. You can use your favorite apps and stream content from your phone to the TV. Of course, there’s free Wi-Fi.

KITCHEN & DINING AREA
The new kitchen is fully equipped with a 4-burner induction cooktop, dishwasher, a combination oven/microwave, and a spacious retro refrigerator with a freezer compartment.

In addition, you’ll find a Senseo coffee maker, electric kettle, air fryer, toaster, hand blender, and a sandwich toaster/grill, among other appliances. Of course, you’ll find plenty of dishes, silverware, glasses, pans, and cooking utensils. Oil, salt, and pepper are also provided.

The dining table seats four people. It’s a lovely spot for a leisurely meal, a game, or simply enjoying the view of the garden.

BATHROOM
The modern bathroom features a shower with a thermostatic faucet, toilet, designer radiator, vanity, and mirror cabinet.

GARDEN & PATIO
The sunny backyard faces south and overlooks the dike. The patio features a garden table with six chairs and a patio umbrella. For barbecue enthusiasts, a Weber BBQ is provided.

The ditch behind the garden is fenced off.

The wooden shed contains two additional adjustable garden chairs with cushions. You can also store your bikes here safely and dry.

PARKING
You can park your car right next to the cottage on the private driveway. For a second car, if needed, there’s another private parking spot about 50 meters away in the park.

SURROUNDINGS
From 't Strandhuisje, you can easily walk to Lake Grevelingen. Herkingen is also a great base for day trips to places like Ouddorp, Middelharnis, Bruinisse, Zierikzee, Renesse, Brielle, and the Zeeland islands.
We’d appreciate it if you’d remove the fitted sheets and pillowcases from the beds before you leave. The protective covers can stay on.

Good to know:

• We kindly ask you to treat the cottage, the garden, and the furnishings with care.

• The person making the reservation must be at least 23 years old and must be staying at 't Strandhuisje during the reservation.

• The fireplace cannot be used. However, you can use the remote control to turn on the fireplace’s mood lighting.

• 't Strandhuisje is smoke-free. Gourmet cooking, fondue, and the use of a griddle indoors are also not permitted.

• To maintain peace and quiet in this small-scale park, we ask that you be considerate of our neighbors and avoid causing noise disturbances.

• Upon departure, please leave any items you’ve used in the house, garden, and shed clean and in their proper places.

• Did you use the barbecue? If so, we’d appreciate it if you’d remove the ashes so the barbecue is ready for the next guests.

The tourist tax on Goeree-Overflakkee is 2.00€ per person per night; and you’ll receive a payment request for this during your stay.
